Company
At ProTransport-1 we are looking to put patients through the least expensive transport, only what's medically necessary. We simplify the complexity of covered services and medical necessity while ensuring accommodations for a patient's special needs. After a few short questions to determine necessity, we have already started arranging for an appropriate and on time transfer.
Since the inception of ProTransport-1 in 2000, we have provided quality customer service for facilities, insurance company payors and most importantly for our patients.
History
ProTransport-1 founders Elena Whorton and Mike Sechrist, both former Bay Area paramedics, have leveraged their experience as caregivers to innovate a unique approach to patient care and transport that accommodates patient needs while offering medical facilities top priority, on-time, courteous customer service. The company began with one vehicle and a small 10X10ft spare room as an office on October 16, 2000. The company has since evolved to become one of the largest privately owned ambulance companies in California, with a fleet of more than a hundred ambulances and over 400 employees.
ProTransport-1's advanced Zoll powered dispatch center is just one of the scores of owned or leased sub-stations and operations facilities throughout Northern and Central California.
Elena and Mike along with the entire staff at ProTransport-1 are committed to uphold the highest standards where patients and clients are concerned and are dedicated to providing professional, courteous and on time service in all aspects of the company.

“They were very patient and understanding of my needs. The drive to and from the hospital was made with every effort to avoid bumps and jarring ...I appreciate their compassion, courtesy and respect.”
